Uprated continues to expand, we are looking to welcome an SEO Manager to join our talented team, lead our SEO department and play a key role in shaping organic search strategy across our growing list of clients, many of which are household names.
This role leads the planning and execution of SEO strategies across a portfolio of client accounts. You'll own technical, on-page and off-page activity, drive content and link build strategy, manage reporting and insights, and mentor junior team members - all with the aim of delivering meaningful, measurable search performance.
Our clients predominantly sit in the ecommerce, outdoors, home and lifestyle and beauty sectors, so you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of ambitious projects and engage with a wide range of audiences.
We offer a relaxed office environment on the top floor of an art deco building in the Lansdowne area of central Bournemouth, while being only a short walk from the beach.
This role will offer flexible options for splitting time between the office and working remotely. Whilst we anticipate this to be a full-time position, we are also open to flexible working days and hours for the right candidate.
This role will be a Team Lead position and has significant scope to develop into more senior roles based on performance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
This role sits at the heart of our SEO team and involves ownership of the following activities:
- Lead the development and delivery of SEO strategies across multiple client accounts
- Own technical SEO audits, prioritisation frameworks, and implementation oversight
- Drive keyword research, competitor analysis, and content gap identification at a strategic level
- Review and direct the optimisation of website content, metadata, and internal linking structures
- Manage and interpret client performance data using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and platforms like SEMrush or Ahrefs
- Deliver clear, insight-led performance reports and strategic recommendations to clients
- Act as a senior SEO point of contact in client meetings, presentations, and calls
- Collaborate closely with our digital marketing, development, and client service teams to ensure SEO is integrated into broader strategies
- Mentor and support junior members of the SEO team, helping to develop their skills and output
- Lead internal agency SEO activity, improving organic visibility and contributing to new business growth
- Stay at the forefront of SEO best practices, algorithm developments, and industry trends, bringing proactive recommendations to clients and the team

Required Skills & Experience
If you have the following skills, we'd love to hear from you.
- 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally within an agency environment
- Proven track record of delivering organic growth across ecommerce or consumer-facing brands
- Deep knowledge of key SEO tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into clear strategic recommendations
- Experience managing and presenting to clients at a senior level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to lead client conversations
- A proactive, solutions-first attitude with the ability to identify and act on opportunities independently
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Experience mentoring or managing junior team members is desirable
- Genuine passion for SEO and a curiosity about where the industry is heading
