An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Tiso Ecommerce & Digital team as our new Senior SEO Executive! We’re looking for a technically strong and commercially minded search professional to take ownership of our organic search channel and drive visibility for our newly replatformed Shopify website. If you’re passionate about turning SEO data into tangible business results and want to do it for one of Scotland’s most loved outdoor retailers, we want to hear from you.
Job Role & Duties
• Own the organic search strategy across tiso.com, developing and implementing plans that drive measurable growth in visibility, traffic, and revenue
• Lead all technical SEO activity for our Shopify website, including site audits, crawl health, indexing, site architecture, and resolving any performance issues
• Manage and continuously improve Core Web Vitals performance (LCP, CLS, INP), working alongside our development team on page speed, image optimisation, and front-end improvements
• Ensure correct implementation of structured data, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, robots.txt, and redirect strategies
• Conduct in-depth keyword research and SERP intent analysis to inform both content strategy and on-page optimisation across all key categories
• Work closely with our Digital Designer and content stakeholders to ensure SEO best practices are embedded into all new content and page builds
• Develop and execute link acquisition strategies to build domain authority, including outreach and digital PR activity
• Validate and monitor tracking accuracy across GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console, identifying and resolving any data discrepancies
• Produce clear weekly and monthly reporting on rankings, organic traffic, and channel performance, translating data into actionable recommendations
• Stay ahead of Google algorithm updates, AI-driven search developments, and evolving SEO best practice, proactively adapting strategy as needed
• Collaborate with the Performance Marketing Manager on cross-channel strategies that maximise overall digital visibility
• Act as the internal SEO authority, educating and supporting wider marketing and trading stakeholders on best practice
Person Profile
• A confident, curious self-starter who is comfortable owning a channel and managing their own workload
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality across everything you produce
• Enjoys working collaboratively across teams as well as getting into the detail independently
• Comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment where priorities can shift and deadlines are real
• Loves data: passionate about digging into performance figures, drawing out insights, and turning them into clear action plans
• Strong communicator who can translate complex technical SEO concepts into plain language for non-technical stakeholders
• Has a strong understanding of where SEO sits in the wider performance
marketing ecosystem and how it interacts with other channels (particularly PPC)
• A proactive testing mindset — always looking for the next improvement, never satisfied with ‘good enough’
• A love of the outdoors is a genuine advantage, though by no means a prerequisite!
Required Experience & Skills
• 4 + years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally within ecommerce or a similarly commercial in-house or agency environment
• Strong working knowledge of technical SEO: crawling, indexing, site architecture, canonicalisation, redirects, and structured data
• Proven experience with Shopify or comparable ecommerce platforms
• Proficiency with core SEO tools: Google Search Console, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or SEMrush
• Experience managing Core Web Vitals and working with development teams on front-end performance improvements
• Demonstrable track record of improving organic rankings, traffic, and commercial outcomes
• Experience with keyword research, SERP analysis, and content optimisation at scale
• Solid understanding of link acquisition and off-page SEO tactics
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data, identify trends, and make clear recommendations
