Role Overview
We are looking for an SEO Executive to join our marketing team on a fixed-term basis to support the continued growth of our organic search performance during maternity cover.
This role is ideal for someone early in their SEO career who has strong technical foundations, enjoys working with data and search performance insights and wants hands-on experience across technical SEO, on-page optimisation, digital PR and organic growth.
You will work closely with the wider marketing team, IT and development teams, external agencies and our content writer to support delivery of the SEO roadmap, helping ensure projects continue moving forward across website optimisation, indexation, keyword targeting, backlink acquisition and overall site health.
This is a hands-on SEO role, focused on SEO execution and performance rather than content creation. The successful candidate will spend most of their time implementing SEO recommendations, analysing performance, identifying opportunities, supporting on technical improvements and collaborating across teams to drive organic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Keyword Research & On-Page Optimisation
● Conduct keyword research and search intent analysis to support category, product and landing page optimisation
● Work collaboratively with the content writer to provide keyword direction, optimisation recommendations and content briefs and to identify content gaps, duplication and cannibalisation opportunities
● Optimise meta data, internal linking and on-page SEO elements
● Support implementation of SEO recommendations across the website
Technical SEO & Site Health
● Support ongoing technical SEO monitoring and implementation across the website
● Identify crawl, indexation and site health issues using tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog and Semrush.
● Work with developers to help implement SEO fixes and improvements
● Monitor redirects, canonicals, robots directives, XML sitemaps and structured data
● Assist with core web vitals and technical performance tracking
Digital PR Agency Management
● Work closely with our external agency on the delivery of digital PR activity and campaigns
● Brief them on upcoming product launches, company activity and focus areas to ensure digital PR output aligns with business activity and goals
● Review and sign off any seasonal or reactive commentary, making improvement recommendations, where necessary
● Ensure agreed digital PR goals and KPIs are being met and report on performance internally
Reporting & Performance Analysis
● Monitor rankings, traffic and visibility performance, across both traditional and Ai/LLMs
● Produce regular SEO performance reports and insights
● Suggest improvements and quick wins based on performance insights
● Track competitor activity and any areas of opportunity
Collaboration & Delivery
● Work closely with the Head of Performance Marketing and the wider marketing team to support the delivery of the SEO and content roadmaps
● Collaborate with marketing, IT & development and content teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented
● Lead external agency communication for digital PR
Skills & Experience
Essential
● 1-3 years’ experience in an SEO or digital marketing role
● Good understanding of technical and on-page SEO principles
● Experience using SEO tools, such as Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or similar
● Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
● Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable
● Experience working within eCommerce SEO
● Understanding of core web vitals and indexation management
● Experience working with developers or CMS platforms
● Knowledge of AI search trends and evolving SERP features
What Success Looks Like
● SEO and content roadmap activity continues progressing during maternity cover
● Technical SEO issues are identified and actioned efficiently
● Priority pages are optimised and maintained
● Keyword targeting and implementation remain aligned with commercial priorities
● Organic visibility and site health continue improving
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
