The Role
As a Regulatory Lead, you will lead the operational delivery of regulatory activity for higher-risk buildings within the Building Safety Regulator.
Working within the In-Occupation or Building Control function, you will manage a demanding caseload, leading multi-disciplinary teams of regulatory specialists to assess building control applications and building assessment certificates.
Drawing on specialist technical expertise, you will make informed regulatory decisions, determine appropriate enforcement action where required and help ensure the effective delivery of the Building Safety Regulator's objectives.
Additionally, you will:
- Communicate regulatory outcomes to applicants
- Work closely with Building Case Officers to gather relevant information
- Monitor the performance of multi-disciplinary team members
- Escalate issues and mitigate risks where required
About You
To be considered as a Regulatory Lead, you will need:
- Experience in regulation, compliance, construction, building design or property management, working to service level agreements and statutory timescales
- Experience managing multiple workstreams
- Experience ensuring the effective performance of partners and suppliers while balancing competing priorities
- Experience conducting challenging conversations with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to assess multiple sources of evidence and make proportionate regulatory decisions against legal standards
- A Level 5 qualification, or equivalent relevant experience, in regulatory compliance, health and safety, building and/or facilities design, planning, construction or property management
