Junior SEO Executive
£24,785 a year | Swansea | Hybrid, 2 days in the office and 3 from home | Full time, permanent
AD Marketing is a specialist PPC and SEO agency, founded in Swansea in 2018. We work with ambitious local businesses, national brands and global ecommerce businesses across sectors including legal, tourism, retail, ecommerce and B2B.
This is an unusual opportunity to build a career in SEO with a lot of direct training from our managing director and founder, supported by our Head of Delivery and wider team. The learning curve is steep at the start, and there is a lot to take in, but if you are curious, quick to learn and genuinely want to get good at SEO, you will be given the time, support and responsibility to develop quickly.
We are looking for someone who likes understanding why something is happening, not just spotting that it is. Someone who wants to know why traffic has changed, why a competitor is outperforming a client, what the numbers are telling us, and what we can actually do about it. We also want someone who takes real pride in seeing a client's numbers go up and enjoys watching the trend improve because of their work.
What you will learn to do
You will gradually learn how to look after SEO accounts and take more ownership as your knowledge and confidence grow. You will learn to:
- Research keywords, competitors and search behaviour to find opportunities for clients
- Analyse rankings, traffic and other performance data, and work out what has changed and why
- Improve websites through content, internal linking, headings, metadata and other on-page SEO work
- Support technical SEO, local SEO, link building and outreach
- Turn analysis into clear recommendations, then help put those recommendations into practice
- Communicate with clients by email and, when you are ready, join client meetings with support from the team
The aim is not just to identify problems. It is to understand them, fix them and keep improving the result.
What we are looking for
You do not need previous SEO experience. What matters more is how you think, how quickly you learn and how much you want to get better. We are looking for someone who:
- Has real drive, curiosity and a hunger to learn SEO
- Is already interested in SEO, whether through their own reading, a website they have worked on, or a course they have put into practice
- Picks up new ideas quickly and enjoys working things out
- Is comfortable with numbers, patterns and data
- Is organised, pays close attention to detail and writes clearly
- Is comfortable communicating with clients and lives within commuting distance of Swansea
You do not need a degree.
We would also love to meet someone who wants to grow with us and our clients over the long term, taking on more responsibility as their skills and confidence develop.
What we offer
- 31 days' holiday including bank holidays
- Your birthday off on top
- Hybrid working, with 2 days in our Swansea office and 3 days from home
- Flexitime, with your hours worked between 8am and 6pm
- Up to 8 hours a month of paid learning time
- Workplace pension
- Pay and role reviews twice a year
- A clear route towards becoming an SEO Specialist
- Direct training from our founder, with support from the wider team
- A friendly team with plenty of personality, a slightly quirky side, and a business that is growing and changing quickly
Your first two weeks will be full time in our new J-Shed office on Swansea's SA1 waterfront so you can get settled and start learning how we work.
