Swarm Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior SEO Specialist for an award winning Birmingham based, Digital Marketing Agency. With a focus on quality, transparency and ‘doing the right thing’ this is a great opportunity for an experienced SEO specialist to step into a role with real ownership and autonomy.
You will be trusted to make decisions and run your own accounts across a portfolio of clients and take full ownership of SEO strategy and performance. The role offers a balance of strategy and being hands-on, whilst also supporting and directing others when required. You’ll be able to drive meaningful SEO outcomes, and if performance fades, you can diagnose and adjust accordingly.
Responsibilities:
- Owning SEO strategy and performance including rankings, traffic quality, conversions, and commercial impact
- Prioritising and optimising based on data/results, experience and client objectives
- Hands-on SEO work, in high-impact or complex areas such as technical SEO, on-page optimisation, diagnostics, and content direction
- When appropriate and to avoid any backlogs, delegate clearly defined tasks and review for quality and alignment
- Performance monitoring, adjusting strategy and providing clear and concise explanations as and when required
- Clear communication to internal stakeholders and clients
- Great project management and reporting skills
Person Specification:
- Proven experience owning SEO strategy and delivering across multiple clients
- Experience in an agency or equivalent environment
- Able to work on own initiative
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret traffic conversion and performance and re-align with strategy/client objectives
- Comfortable and confident articulating technical SEO sata and decisions to relevant stakeholders
- Proficient in on-page, technical and content-led SEO
- Experience with GA4, SEarch Console, crawling tools, GTM and Ahrefs.
- CMS experience on Wordpress and Shopify
- Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with AI assisted SEO tools and workflows will be well regarded

Working Hours
This is a full-time position working 37.5hours per week Monday - Friday, with hybrid working offered (Wednesday & Friday work from home). Based centrally in Birmingham - no parking - but a short walk from the train station.
