Role Type: Full-time, Permanent
We’re looking for an experienced and commercially-minded SEO Director to lead the strategic delivery of organic search performance for Fresh Egg’s clients. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of SEO, digital strategy, data, UX and AI. You’ll take ownership of complex SEO programmes across a portfolio of clients, while helping shape the future of SEO as a discipline within the agency.
This role is about doing two things brilliantly:
- Delivering high-impact SEO strategies that drive measurable business outcomes for our clients
- Strengthening and evolving Fresh Egg’s SEO capability, positioning and reputation in the market
You’ll act as one of our senior SEO authorities across the agency, working independently with senior client stakeholders and confidently guiding strategy, decision-making and delivery. Alongside this, you’ll support the Head of SEO in evolving processes, tools, methodologies and best practice across the discipline.
If you enjoy influencing at a senior level, leading complex client relationships and driving measurable growth through search, this is a role where you’ll have genuine ownership and visibility.
Fresh Egg is among the leading digital marketing agencies in the UK. Our mission is to uncover customer challenges and transform them into digital success. We don’t employ cogs to fit into a machine, we employ exceptional individuals who help us consistently outperform expectation.
What you'll be doing
• Leading the development and delivery of robust, insight-driven SEO strategies aligned to client objectives and commercial outcomes
• Acting as senior SEO lead across key client accounts, presenting recommendations with clarity, confidence and authority
• Forecasting, measuring and clearly demonstrating the impact of SEO activity on performance and ROI
• Collaborating with UX, CRO, design, analytics and development teams to deliver integrated, audience-focused solutions
• Leading SEO audits and consultancies for new and existing clients, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation
• Acting as a subject matter expert in the evolving AI and search landscape, guiding clients through change and opportunity
• Supporting new business activity, including pitches, proposals and strategic input to win and grow accounts
• Identifying opportunities to grow revenue across existing clients through SEO and integrated services
• Mentoring and developing SEO team members, identifying skills gaps and supporting continuous progression
• Supporting the Head of SEO in evolving the agency’s SEO offering, including tools, processes and training materials
• Contributing to thought leadership, industry presence and Fresh Egg’s reputation in the market
What you'll bring
• Significant experience in SEO strategy and delivery, ideally within an agency environment
• A strong track record of delivering measurable organic performance improvements for clients
• Deep technical and strategic SEO expertise, with a strong understanding of how SEO integrates with UX, CRO and wider digital channels
• Confidence operating as a senior specialist, managing stakeholders and leading client relationships independently
• Experience forecasting, measuring and communicating performance impact clearly and commercially
• Strong understanding of the evolving search landscape, including AI and its implications for SEO
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Commercial awareness, with experience identifying growth opportunities and supporting new business
• A collaborative, proactive mindset aligned with Fresh Egg’s culture and values
What we'll give you in return
The most brilliant part of Fresh Egg is its people – you’ll see what we mean as soon as you arrive. People to learn from, caring people and people full of ideas (not to mention they can bake a mean cake). We therefore look after our staff and we’re all rewarded with, amongst other things:
• 3pm finish on Fridays
• Input into company goals – we ask for opinions on where the company should be headed
• A structured training programme built around personal development plans and skills gaps
• Enhanced pension contributions, critical illness, and death in service packages
• Regular social events to suit everyone – quiz nights, beer tasting, BBQs and our infamous Christmas party
• Workplace flexibility – we entrust our line managers to work with you and allow flexibility where needed
• Wellbeing support – financial wellness sessions, a wellness guide, employee savings and cycle scheme access, plus activities and an in-office gym
• Enhanced maternity and paternity packages
• A structured induction programme to learn about the different functions across Fresh Egg
