Head of SEO | £70-75k | Remote / Hybrid
We are working with a leading digital marketing agency where SEO is central to the agency’s continued growth. This is a critical leadership role, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of SEO across the entire client base while leading a high-performing, UK Search Award-winning team
The agency has an incredible office in East Hertfordshire and would love someone to come in a few times a month but are also open to remote.
The Opportunity
You will lead all SEO activity across the agency, shaping strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring performance is directly aligned to client revenue.
This is a highly visible role, working closely with senior stakeholders including Founders, CMOs, and CEOs, while also playing a key part in new business and growth initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading all SEO across the agency’s full client portfolio
- Managing and developing a team of 8 SEO specialists
- Owning SEO workflow, automation, and operational efficiency
- Driving strategy and growth initiatives across key accounts
- Acting as the senior SEO lead for major automotive clients, including the UK’s largest dealership groups
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver commercially impactful SEO strategies
- Supporting new business activity including pitches, proposals, and growth planning
- Leading innovation, including in-house SEO tools and award-winning campaigns submitted for UK Search Awards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading SEO within an agency environment
- Strong commercial mindset with a clear understanding of how SEO drives revenue and business performance
- Credibility with senior stakeholders at CMO and CEO level
- Experience owning strategy across complex client portfolios
- Background in performance-led environments such as eCommerce or automotive
- Experience improving SEO processes, workflows, or automation
- A confident, decisive leader who can elevate both people and performance
