As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic Group SEO Manager to be based at our Office in London.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Group SEO Manager to lead and develop the SEO strategy across all CDS Superstores brands. This is a high-impact role responsible for driving organic growth, increasing brand visibility, and ensuring SEO is embedded across ecommerce, digital marketing, content, and technology teams.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and agency partners, you will own the Group SEO roadmap, lead SEO activity through major website migrations and replatforms, and help shape our approach to emerging search technologies, including Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO).
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the Group SEO strategy across all CDS Superstores brands.
- Own and manage the annual SEO roadmap, prioritising activity based on commercial impact.
- Lead and develop the internal SEO team, including Technical SEO Specialists and SEO Content Executives.
- Manage relationships with SEO agency partners and ensure effective use of internal and external resources.
- Drive improvements in organic traffic, rankings, revenue, customer acquisition, and search visibility.
- Collaborate with Ecommerce, Digital Trading, Marketing, Content, Product, and Development teams.
- Identify technical, content, and authority-based SEO opportunities across multiple websites.
- Ensure SEO best practices are integrated into website developments, redesigns, migrations, and digital projects.
- Develop keyword, category, and content strategies aligned to customer demand and business objectives.
- Provide clear reporting and insights on SEO performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead SEO activity for website migrations and replatforming projects, including planning, implementation, testing, and post-launch monitoring.
- Develop and implement strategies for GEO and AEO to support visibility in AI-driven search experiences.
- Promote SEO best practices and build SEO knowledge across the wider business.
Person Specification:
Essential
- Significant SEO experience gained within ecommerce, retail, or another large consumer-facing organisation.
- Experience developing and delivering SEO strategies across complex, multi-site, or multi-brand environments.
- Strong technical SEO knowledge, supported by a solid understanding of content and authority-building strategies.
- Experience managing SEO teams, agency partners, or both.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to demonstrate the impact of SEO on business performance.
- Experience working with large ecommerce websites and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using SEO and digital analytics platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proven experience leading SEO through major website migrations or replatforming projects.
- Strong understanding of GEO and AEO, including structured data, content optimisation, authority, and AI-led search visibility.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proactive, commercially minded, and results driven.

- Experience working within a multi-brand retail environment.
- Experience building or expanding in-house SEO capabilities.
- Knowledge of emerging AI tools and technologies within search and digital marketing.
