About Eight Digital
Eight Digital is a growing digital marketing agency within the wider Eight Group. We work with ambitious brands to drive measurable growth through smart strategy, data-led marketing and joined-up execution.
As we continue to grow our client base, we're looking for an SEO & Content Specialist to take ownership of organic search and content delivery across a varied portfolio of clients.
The Role
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how SEO and content work together to increase visibility, attract the right audiences and ultimately generate commercial results.
You'll be responsible for planning, delivering and improving SEO and content activity across multiple client accounts.
For accounts where SEO and content are the primary services, you'll also take responsibility for the day-to-day account management and client relationship. This means owning communication, managing priorities and delivery, leading relevant client meetings and ensuring activity remains aligned with agreed objectives and budgets.
While SEO will form a significant part of the role, content won't be limited to search. You'll also support content creation across wider digital marketing channels and platforms, helping us deliver consistent, high-quality messaging throughout the customer journey.
As search continues to evolve, you'll also help us develop our approach to AI search and emerging organic visibility opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and deliver SEO strategies across a portfolio of client accounts.
· Complete SEO audits and identify opportunities to improve organic performance.
· Work with our development team to identify and resolve technical SEO issues.
· Identify opportunities for new landing pages, service pages, guides and supporting content.
· Support website migrations, redirects and new website launches from an SEO perspective.
· Help develop Eight Digital's approach to visibility across AI-powered search and answer engines.
· Understand how traditional SEO principles translate into AI search environments.
· Keep in tune with developments across AI search experiences, testing new approaches and sharing practical recommendations internally and with clients.
· Develop content strategies aligned with clients' wider marketing and commercial objectives.
· Create high-quality website copy, landing pages, blogs, articles, guides and thought-leadership content.
· Produce content briefs, campaign messaging and content plans based on audience, competitor and search research.
· Refresh and optimise existing content to improve performance.
· Adapt tone of voice and messaging across different brands, industries, audiences and platforms.
For clients where SEO and/or content are the primary services, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the account.
This will include:
· Acting as the main day-to-day client contact.
· Leading regular client meetings, performance reviews and planning sessions.
· Managing agreed monthly hours, deliverables and priorities, ensuring work is delivered on time and within scope.
· Providing proactive updates and identifying challenges, opportunities or changes in priority.
· Coordinating additional internal or external resource where required.
· Identifying opportunities where additional marketing activity could support the client's objectives.
· Use GA4, Google Search Console and SEO platforms to monitor performance and identify opportunities.
· Contribute insight and recommendations to monthly client reporting.
· Focus recommendations on commercial impact rather than rankings alone.
· Work closely with account leads to plan monthly activity and priorities.
· Provide SEO and content expertise across wider integrated client accounts.
· Collaborate with designers, developers, paid media specialists and wider marketing partners.
· Support other channels with messaging, copywriting and content development where required.
· Support pitches, proposals, audits and new-business opportunities where SEO/content expertise is required.
· Share knowledge and developments across SEO, content and AI search with the wider team.
What we’re looking for
We're looking for someone with solid practical experience in SEO and content marketing, ideally gained within an agency. Whilst technical knowledge is important, so is how you work.
We're looking for somebody who:
· Takes ownership rather than waiting to be chased.
· Communicates clearly and proactively with both clients and colleagues.
· Is comfortable taking responsibility for client relationships and delivery.
· Is commercially minded and understands that marketing needs to contribute to wider business objectives.
· Is naturally curious and wants to understand why something is or isn't performing.
· Can balance attention to detail with actually getting work delivered.
· Is comfortable working in a growing business where processes will continue to evolve.
· Wants to contribute ideas rather than simply complete a task list.
· Keeps up with changes across SEO, content and AI without chasing every new trend for the sake of it.
Why this role is different
This role gives you the opportunity to become our internal specialist for SEO and content and play an important part in shaping how the agency develops.
You'll have ownership rather than simply receiving tasks, with the opportunity to manage your own client relationships, influence strategy and work across SEO, content and wider integrated marketing activity.
As Eight Digital grows, there will also be opportunities to develop the role, take greater ownership of our organic and content offering and contribute to the development of future team members.
